I am a visual artist, researcher, coach, mentor and Higher Education lecturer with over 25 years experience of working in the arts and culture. I explore topics of value, labour, the workplace and wellbeing at work through self-initiated collaborations and by working to commission. I completed a Clore Fellowship in 2018.

I publish research, including my new report - Practising Well: Conversations & Support Menu (2022), which builds upon Artists Practising Well (2019). Both both pieces of research explore the affective support needs of creative practitioners working in participatory arts, and were supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Clore Leadership. I also write articles about my research work.

I create visual artworks, talks, writing and events which explore the importance of context and connection in both art-making and leadership practice. My current artwork is House of Naismith - a research and development project is supported by public funding by Arts Council England.

I support creative practitioners through research and advocacy, and in my role as a coach, mentor and action learning set facilitator. I work with organisations to design and deliver programmes of professional development and support for creative practitioners. As a post-graduate lecturer and module leader on the online MA Art and Social Practice at the University of the Highlands and Islands I specialise in supporting students in the the development of professional, reflective and ethical practices.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or are interested in working with me.
